The state of cloud modernization in M&E

For this report, Amagi collaborated with media industry expert Dan Rayburn on a global survey conducted in Q3 2024. The survey gathered input from more than 200 executives across broadcasters, content owners, OTT platforms, live linear services, and sports leagues. Our goal is to educate and inform on challenges and opportunities with cloud modernization.

Key takeaways from the report:

• By moving to the cloud, most broadcasters are looking for scalability, the ability to update their technology faster and provide a better overall end-user experience
• More than 64% of survey respondents revealed a lack of sufficient knowledge about cloud playout solutions
• The majority of respondents identified their biggest hurdle as a lack of time, resources, and in-house expertise to migrate to and manage cloud platforms

• 71% haven’t moved their broadcast operations to the cloud yet because a majority don't know enough about cloud playout
